I wanted to start this thread to see how other freshmans are doing during their first year of high school. Just list what you got so far and know that anything from middle school doesn't count as credentials(since colleges don't pay attention to that). Grades, of course, won't be applicable quite yet since grades haven't come in( it's September). So, list your courseload, clubs, sports, leadership, etc.

To Runawaywithme: Long time no see, how's school been and all? Nothing much has been happening over here. I felt that it would be more appropriate to post a response to your question on here than on the sophmore thread..besides it will also bump up your thread. To adresss your question about whether your schedule is mediocre or not, I don't think your schedule is mediocre at all; I think you are on the right track. Try to make straight A's in freshmen year, so that it can be some cushioning in case you get a few B's or C's later on in high school. Best of luck to you!

Considering re-starting Broadway Club with another freshman
Piano and voice lessons outside of school
Auditioning for Northern regional state chorus...have made it on the middle school level 3/3 times. No idea how upper-level high school auditions will work out.

When applying for college, will be considered a....."developmental case" I think they call it...can't say why over the internet.

I usually have B+/A-/A grades at the end of the semesters...once in awhile a B. B-'s maybe once a year, but I'm really gonna try and not go in that direction.

Freshman - chill. Stop comparing stats and focus on improving yourself as a person.

You wonder why we have had irresponsible in government through the ages? Because people cared about credentials more than what they could contribute to the community.

You guys can be very aggravating. There is nothing wrong with being ambitious and grade conscious in ninth grade and I am frankly sick of being told to "chill". I am not stressed, I am just aware that I am working towards getting into college. Why shouldnt freshman be on CC? This is High School Life....I am in high school...you see what I;m getting at? Sorry if Im overreacting but stop "warning" us to leave this site, I enjoy going on CC. Later..

GreenDayFan, we are actually telling you to "go away" for your own good. Don't cry when you grow up because you could not enjoy high school like normal kids who actually go to the movies with friend, go to Six Flags with friends, have a blast by going to parties and actually created a friendship with friends. I did not make the mistake of coming here freshman year, even though I found out during 8th grade. Instead, I studied hard, partied hard, played hard, and created many friendship which I treasure more than college admission and crap like that. so go "chill" and if you freshmans want to stay, fine. STAY. You guys are absolutely crazy to give up something (high school life) for undergrad, which have no influence toward your graduate school, med school, law school, etc acceptance chances. You freshmans are obviously pushed by your parents to go to top school, not self motivated. If you guys were self-motivated, you guys wouldnt be here trying to find out what kind of EC's colleges like, and what AP study guides are the best, or trying to find out what other people's stats are so you can mimic what they are doing. JEsus Christ, can you all just turn of the dam computer and go outside.
If you guys think college is your entire life, tihnk again. don't even say that I am talking bull****, cuz I am not.

I do have friends, and go to parties with them and all that stuff. And I'm self-motivated, and I don't care about what type of EC's colleges like, or what AP-guides are the best, or even try to copy what other people do. And I don't think college is my entire life.

See, I get that. But I HAVE a life. I hang out with friends and do enjoy high school. Seriously, it is possible to be grade-conscious and goal oriented and still have a social life. So I realize that you think telling me to go away is for my own good, but I am fully capable of making sound decisions on my own. I enjoy this site...I dont go on here because I am some overstressed ninth grader who thinks I will die if I dont get into the ivy league, I just enjoy this site because I like relating to other ambitious, motivated teens. So yeah 1337noh4k4. I do think your talking bullsh it, so I ask you upperclassmen to stop trying to "help us" and just leave us be...

If you're happy here then stay. If you're not stressed then why not talk about grades? I'm not one of those CC snobs that thinks this should be strictly 10-12 grade. I just don't know why you would spend your 9th grade this way...
