I got a 4 on AP calc AB junior year of high school, 670 math 2 subject test, 750 SAT math. I’m also taking a calc course this summer at a local college. My question is, do I take Math 111L or Math 112L?
or even 105/106?
Or I think there is an option for 122L? sorry i’m just really confused
There’s a whole group on Facebook (if you use it) dedicated solely to “Math Placement at Duke”. That’s actually the name, in fact. There’s also this handy webpage: http://www.math.duke.edu/first_year/placement.html
You can’t enroll in 122 because you don’t have any calculus credit. 122 is Calc 2, and you would’ve needed to score a 5 on the AB exam as a pre-requisite. You also can’t enroll in 112 because it’s solely a spring course, and it’s usually taken by those who take 111 in the fall, I believe. Your options are 111 or 105, and your scores are somewhat borderline for being suitable for 111, but since you already have some calculus background, you could probably pull it off.
You might’ve figured this all out by now, though, since this was so late.
