I signed up for Math 31L, but I don't know if I should start there. I would feel more comfortable in Math 25L, but I think that would be too low of a starting point.

The math dept. says they recommend at least a score of 680 on both math tests. However, I never took Math 2 and my SAT 1 math score was a measly 600.

I took AP Calc this year and didn't pass the test.

So should I go ahead and stay on Math 31L or move down to Math 25L?

I was planning on reviewing my notes extensively over the summer in order to prepare for the course. I really want to master it.

I would take 25L...you will have a lot of work in your other classes too and taking a math class at Duke that you are not really ready for seems like a bad idea.

I would say email the Duke Math department with your situation and see what they think you should do..

You may just want to take Math 25L & 26L to fulfill your math requirement but 31L & 32L wouldn't be a bad idea neither.. I'm guessing you have stronger subjects than math, so I'd say really focus on others and fulfill the math requirement the easisest way possible.
