What meal plan is most popular for entering freshman and is best to have, the one with more dining points or more included meals?

The one I have is 14 meals a week, plus 200 dining points per semester. Very few days a week do I ever eat three dining hall meals. Usually, I use dining points to grab a bagel or something small in the morning. I then use my two meals a day for lunch and dinner. Throw in the few times when you just something in your dorm or go out for dinner and the 14 serves people quite well. I would recommend this plan to start. You can always change it once the semester begins.

You can change every week if you want so picking a plan is not a big deal. If you live in a big dorm, then I'd suggest getting the most meals because you can swipe in for anything at any time, from a snack to a meal.

14 has worked well for me. I don't suggest eating three dining hall meals a day not because the food is terrible or anything but I dunno it gets old really fast so the supplementary points work well for a change.

i'm going to use the unlimited plan for the first semester, because i'm not sure how my eating habits will change once i'm in college. i'll probably change it after the first semester though.

Those dining points really are a godsend toward the end of the semester. Dining hall food really isn't bad at BU. It is much better than at most places. Warren, West, and Towers are usually good. Myles is absolutely horrendous and Shelton isn't too great either. Dining points give you a great way to break up the monotony. You can use it for Panda Express, Dominoes, the burrito place, salad bar, etc. I recommend that you save most of those up for later in the semester once you just get sick of dining halls.

Changing plans is simple, so it's not a big deal.

Most of my friends thought the unlimited one was a waste of money. the dining hall is all you can eat so you don't really need to go that many times a day. I had the 14 for a semester, but I liked the 125 meals with 500 points the best. Gave me the most flexibility during the semester and the most dining points since something I just didn't have time to make it to the dining hall.

Dang you're making me miss the dining hall. I live off campus now. The dining halls at BU are awesome

Which dining plan lets students eat most outside of the dining halls while still using the card to swipe? Are these the plus plans? I imagine that I would get sick of BU's food quickly and would want to eat as much outside as I can.

Yeah those are the ones when you get a set number of meals per semester with quite a few dining points. If you know in advance that you don't want to eat too much in the dining hall, then go for it. However, as a freshman, I would recommend the 14. First of all, you don't know that the dining hall food will be bad or that you will get sick of it. Second, eating in the dining halls is a great way to bond and make friends. I used to eat with the same group of 5 or 6 people every single day for lunch and dinner.

Yeah. BU's food is really good. I don't think you'll get sick of it. The 125 plus gives you the most dining points. The 14 plan is okay for freshman, but keep in mind that you get 14 a week and it resets to 14 every sunday. If you have leftover meals on saturday they don't rollover and you can't use more than one during a meal period.

But you can change your plan really easily, so in the end it doesnt matter much what you pick right away
