Freshman PSAT Score... HELP!

Hey guys, I just got my PSAT score today, and my score was:

Critical Reading: 60
Mathematics: 68
Writing: 68
(Total: 196)

Some of my friends got much better scores than me, and I'm worried that my score isn't a good one. For a freshman, what's a good PSAT score?

Since you are still a freshman, and have two more years to take the PSAT that actually counts, (Well, if you are planning to participate in the National Merit Honors Scholarship program) don’t sweat over it.

A 196 as a freshman is actually a pretty decent score.

I bet you that you will definitely score over 2200 when you become a junior or even a sophomore at the real SAT if you prepare for the test. You actually remind me of my freshman year. :)

The reading score is a tad low, but the other two are great for a freshman!

I agree, this is a pretty good score for a freshman :)

Yep, you did great. I didn’t take the test as a freshman but went from a 205 to a 230, so large jumps in score are quite possible, even in the higher ranges. Just do some test prep, and focus on CR. Writing is easy as long as you are familiar with grammar rules and common ploys (parallelism, malapropisms) that Collegeboard will use to trick you. You’ll get better at math as you take more courses.

Seriously? Great score for a freshie. Stop freaking out. LOL!
