I was really nervous about taking the Psat. It was pretty hard and I didn't even finish. I got a 216 (59 in Math, 77 in Reading, 80 in Writing). I was wondering if this is a good score and what steps I can take to do better next year. Thank you.

Not sure if serious…
For some (most?) states, that’d already be good enough for National Merit. Math is the only issue, but that fixes itself with time.

It looks like the only think you didn’t finish was Math. And your scores prove that everything else came pretty easy to you. And someone as smart as yourself knows how percentiles work. So I’m not sure how serious you’re being w/ this post.

lol I got almost the reverse of you.

59 Reading, 76 Math…and then 65 Writing. Yeah I’m kinda stupid

". I was wondering if this is a good score"

It literally tells you how well you did compared to others…

Seriously. You’re fine. Go chill out. Depending on where you live, you could have qualified for NMSF with that score. Just practice math at some point and you 'll be golden.

for a freshman, that’s an AMAZING score. PSAT doesn’t even matter freshman year, and you got an insane score. I’m a junior, so the PSAT actually matters. I studied, and got a 214.

I had virtually the opposite scores; near perfect math and science but semi-poor English and reading (took ACT in 8th but scores very comparable to yours). I would’ve told you to read a lot, but your writing (and reading) scores are amazing. The logical thing to do would be to work on your math skills. Unless you have incentive to (i.e. competitions), I wouldn’t study outside of school until the test date nears.

Pretty nice score to be honest. I only got a 209 as a Freshman- I’m jealous of you.

Just make sure you improve and don’t let it drop down in the successive years. Math should be the easiest topic to improve on.
