hi. freshie into p'ton. im undecided but im leaning towards molecular bio/premed or pyschology.

just wanted to get my schedule checked with CC-ers. :)

Fall:
1. MOL 215
2. MAT 201
3. Freshman Seminar
4. Writing Seminar (if i get assigned for fall) or a chem course?

Spring:
1. EEB 211
2. PHY 101
3. a psychology course maybemaybe (or FRE 107 if i place out)
4. a chem course? or writing seminar if i get it spring.. -0-
5. another freshman seminar?

how bad/hard/easy/good is this schedule? i have NO idea how this schedule is and i have no references either :( so ANY comments at all would be great.

just on a side note, im a native in korean and i THINK i got at leasr 4 on french ap test so i plan to just place out of the foreign language requirement but i might change my mind .. heh.
also, i got 5 on ap chem test so i can technically get into CHM 301 but i hear that that's not a good idea for freshman year. does that mean i should go to CHM 215 freshman and CHM 301 sophomore or just not take chem at all freshman year and just go right into CHM 301 sophomore year?

The intro chem class isn’t really that useful if you did well on the AP test-- I would just take orgo, or wait until sophomore year to take orgo. The schedule looks pretty good-- the only thing is that most people take eeb211 in the fall and then mol214 in the spring (is eeb211 even offered in the spring?). Also I’m pretty sure phy101 is only offered in the fall and 102 in the spring. You don’t have to decide all of this yet-- you will get an advisor and a peer advisor and there is also plenty of time freshman week to go ot the departmental open houses and ask questions.

Yeah, if you got a 5 on the AP chem, you dont have to take chem until sophomore year. If you really want to study a language abroad during your soph or junior year, however, I would recommend you take orgo frosh year, but either way, your good!

EEB 211 is only offered in the fall, and PHY 101 might not be offered in the spring. I would take orgo freshman year, which would allow you to take biochem and/or a core lab during sophomore year, which will, in turn, allow you to early concentrate and/or study abroad, should you choose. Do you have AP in bio?

oh man, thanks everyone for the awesome advice/info. i cant access the student course guide but i have the 2008-2009 course booklet they sent in the mail and i hope that that’s accurate enough for 2009-2010 so that i know what classes are only given fall/spring :D.

ragingbull- yeapyeap i have 5 for bio :)

just wondering, if I’m trying to fill out the course schedule thing on the matriculation site, would i just type “freshman seminar” in one of the four blank boxes or would i just assume/choose a specific course for now?

wait…are we supposed to have schedules made or something at this point? are you like submitting this info somewhere or are you just planning for yourself?

oh no, i’m making this so for the matriculation AB schedule thing but its not final at all. i think its just for the advisers so they know what direction youre heading.

but im posting this on CC for later, when i meet up with my advisers, so that i have at least a good idea of what a good schedule might be

so im fail and i get 2 on ap french! i really want to laugh but in all honesty this is not a laughing situation T T. i lost my motivation to even take the placement exam. am i even allowed to take the placement exam?
anyway, guess i’ll be taking french too. thanks everyone. just wanted to rant.

okay i guess i might as well laugh it out now HAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
