I'm a first semester freshman, currently enrolled in 18 units. I'm seriously considering dropping a random gen.ed class that I picked up because I didn't like the idea of only having one class one day of the week; which was probably the dumbest idea ever because I hate the subject and it really doesn't seem too easy. If I drop it, I'll only be taking one gen. ed this semester and I'm a bit worried that I'll be behind on completing my gen.eds. Would it be wise to drop it?

You can definitely drop it without a problem. You’re a first semester freshman, you have (hopefully only) 7 more semesters to get through your degree. Drop it and take it some other time.
