Alright, let me know if I need to post this somewhere else. I live 50 minutes away from the school I go to. I have to take one class every day, because none of the classes I need for my major are provided on the same day. Having to drive 50 minutes there and 50 minutes back every day for one class a day is not ideal for the gas tank, the winter weather in my area is comically awful, and I’m also feeling burned out in general. I was thinking that I could drop one class that will definitely be offered in the next fall, but the financial aid stuff already went through, and that would leave me with two classes this semester. Does this sound like a stupid idea or am I justified, basically I need someone to talk me into dropping or keeping the class.
Can’t you take some Gen Ed courses to supplement the courses in your major? That would make it more cost (and time) effective to make that 100 minute round trip ride.
I could, but since the financial aid already went through I’d have to figure out what to do about that, plus I already have all of my general requirements so it might just amount to extra credit hours, more money to spend on classes and textbooks. Being as burned out as I am, it has the potential to hurt my gpa if I don’t do well in the extra class.
So the only classes you have left to take are these 2 in your major? There’s nothing else you need for your degree beyond these two classes, and each is only offered on alternating days?
And your financial aid is set up so you can only take 6-8 credits?
Obviously I’m misunderstanding something here.
In our area going to work is about a 50 to 60 minute commute one way so that is something you might want to get used to. I am going to assume you do more than just go to class and go home. Do you not go for tutoring, office hours, socialize, go to the library to study or participate in any clubs or activities? Do work on group projects for class with a team?
Or maybe you can add another class that day, thus making it more worthwhile?
