I took 17 fall of my freshman year, and I guess since I’m a pretty organized person it worked in my favor. I also used my professors whenever I didn’t understand something in their office hours. As long as you do that I think you’ll be fine!

Well, I’m on quarters…but for winter and spring quarters last year I took 17 units. I’ll be at 17 again next quarter too, from the looks of it. The 17 units wasn’t too bad, I just needed to make sure to stay on top of everything…which you need to do regardless of the amount of units you have. So if you stay organized, you should be fine.

There are a ton of people who have taken over 16 credits in a semester.

I’ve taken 18 credits twice, and I currently have 21 credits. I’m going to have 21 credits again next semester. Most of my classes are science classes too. I currently have Calc I-honors, General Physics I-honors, General Chemistry I, Intro Anthropology, and Spanish I. It hasn’t been that bad of a semester.

Your schedule doesn’t look too terribly difficult. It should be fairly easy to manage.

I did 18 credits (the max we were allowed) and I was only stressed when I had to work a lot. I feel like it is manageable if the classes aren’t super demanding. If it’s a very difficult subject or a very demanding class with a heavy workload, I would recommend staying at your normal place. Otherwise 19 credits without a job seems quite manageable.

Just be careful about courses with labs, as these can be significantly higher in time commitment than the same number of units of non-lab courses.

I took 17 and 21 during fall and spring semesters of freshman year, respectively. And I am in Petroleum Engineering major, the toughest and the most rigorous major at my university. So 19 should definitely be within the reach.

I take six classes a semester. Right now I’m at 17 credits, next semester I’ll be at 18. It’s not as bad as it sounds, especially if you have good time management skills.

Its the class that dictates how hard not really the credits, someone could be taking 18 units of hard classes, while another could be taking 18 units of easy classes. Really depends on the class especially things like labs which are 1 credits to 2 credits but the time preparing for lab is much more than the credit hours dictates. Just try to balance hard classes with easy ones.

I take at least 16 units per quarter. I’ve taken as much as 20 but will probably take at most 24 this year to graduate. It doesn’t really hurt you too bad if you don’t have a social life, very much want to graduate, and need to for grad school. I took 19 units my last quarter before I transferred and did well.

I took 4 upper-division math classes back to back spring quarter and did well plus a seminar. I think it just depends on you really. I don’t hangout with anyone or anything like that. I do procrastinate a lot, but I get my work done.

Lol Cal I already dont have much of a social life so I have nothing to worry about. I dont plan to keep in each with everyone after the semester ends some aren’t true friends and im already starting to see that.

I doing 22 credits this semester. I feel that the work is more time consuming than difficult. I’m taking less credits next semester so I can focus more on my foreign language courses.

I took 20 credits this term and will be taking 20 again next term. It’s a lot of work and I spend a lot of time studying or completing assignments, but I think the payoff is worth it. 20 credits allow me to take a full academic workload as well as doing independent research in a professor’s lab for credit. Good time management helps.
