Freshman SOE schedule questions

Hi,

I've received my schedule and everything, but I'm wondering when and how I can request time changes to some of my classes.

I'm commuting from about an hour away and on some days, I only have 1 class for an hour in the middle of the afternoon.

I would really like to change it, but do I have to wait until the registration orientation on September 3, or can I do something earlier than that?

Thanks.

If you’re an incoming freshman engineer, you can’t really shift around your classes. You acquire that power after 1st semester lol. I know it’s very inconvenient, but I think you deserve to go through what all other engineers went through during their freshman year. No pity for you, sorry ;)

zzz, that is realllly inconvenient, thanks. well, I actually have another question - where can I get all of my teachers’ emails? I looked through most of My Rutgers, but haven’t been able to find anything.

[People Search | Rutgers Search](<a href=“Rutgers Search”>Rutgers Search)

You might be able to move some classes but not all. For example, you can’t move chemistry most likely and calc. These sections are all closed by now so you probably won’t find a space. Maybe you can change physics but thats kinda hard also.

You can try to get a job through work study or ask student center if they are hiring. Most likely they are hiring but will probably require you to work 10 hrs. My friend is a commuter and he works at the busch campus center. However, he gets some work days on the weekend which you can probably sleep over a friends dorm for the night or if you want drive back.

You can always try the add/drop period as well. I am a commuter as well and I plan on adding a course that fits my schedule when it opens up. You can also tell your situation to Dean Rankin. See what he says.
