Freshman Spring Transfer 2017

Is it possible to get accepted as a transfer for spring 2017 based on your high school transcript and SAT scores? The only credits I have are for four AP’s and I am currently enrolled as a freshman at another school (16 credits in progress). My grades won’t be available until late December. So do I have to wait until those grades are submitted or is it possible to be accepted based on just my HS performance?

Possible? Yes.
Likely? Honestly, it depends. We typically do like to see two full-time semesters, but if your high school record is very strong, then it could be enough now. We may need to wait to see fall grades, though. We’ll let you know what we need once we have all the pieces.

And how does this affects our chances since I would not be able to send my grades until December? Is it even a thing where they can conditionally accept you based on your hs grades and then wait to see your college transcript? Because if grades are due at my institution around Dec.18 and spring semester beings around Jan. 23rd when would I receive an acceptance and what not because there is only about a month of time in between the end of fall semester and the start of spring. Sorry for the many questions.

Happy to answer – I know it can be confusing. If we need to wait for fall grades to review your application – for whatever reason, be it GPA or 24-credit threshold or whatever – then get us those grades as soon as you have them. If we say we need to see them, then we can’t make an admissions decision without them. (Well, we could, but it probably wouldn’t be a positive one.)

Yes, that does make the timeline a little tight for spring. We definitely recommend you have a backup plan for spring, even if that’s just enrolling where you are now, just in case.

@sbuadmissions Chris I know some spring decisions have already been sent out. When is the next batch of decisions coming out…or are they released daily?

We release them regularly for spring. Not quite daily, but regularly.
