D just made the decision to go ahead and compete in her club sport. It's a large commitment involving daily 5AM practices plus traveling competitions. She also plans to hold a campus job and carry a 15 credit course enrollment - including two labs. Do you think this sounds reasonable or a stretch? Just curious.

Well, I don’t know how much of a commitment a campus job really is. I do think that with good time management, a sport and 15 credits are certainly doable. If she does her academic stuff efficiently, then I suppose it is fine.

She should be fine. My child didn’t have a job, but did the sport thing (maybe same club here, given the time :)), participated in quite a few activities (serious commitment) PLUS having root canal in the first month!

D hasn’t actually gotten a job yet - and I imagine that that will be the first thing to go under pressure. She is really excited - and I fully support her. Thanks - I think she will be fine too.

It matters what the 5 courses are. What is she taking? What is her major.

Based on the “Eureka!” thread, she is taking chem lab and Eureka, presumably a pre-med.

Only 6 credits (just kidding). Curious what all her courses are.

I took Chem, Chem Lab, Calc II, MBB, Writing and MedPrep.
I did get involved in a Club. I am glad I didn’t have a sport or a job.
I didn’t have much free time at all.
Same second semester with a larger commitment for the Club.
Second semester I took Chem II, Chemb Lab, Bio & Bio Lab, MBB II and Philosophy
