<p>Hi! I wanted to know whether or not rice factors in freshman year hs grades? I got pretty poor grades (3.83uw) in freshman year and my gpa seriously tanked. My weighted is a bit low because of this; we're not allowed to take ap freshman yr. If they are accounted for, are they weighed hghly?</p>

<p>Not sure how a 3.83 is considered “poor grades”. Rice factors in all your grades. That said, improvement will help you and just because your freshman year wasn’t as good will not seriously hurt your chances.</p>
<p>@Antarius Haha, I suppose it isn’t too bad, but I didn’t take very many weighted classes and the 4.0 and 3.67 from both semesters really tanked my weighted GPA. Regardless, thanks for the response,I appreciate it!</p>

<p>@Antarius i am rank 69 out of roughly 780 from a mehh school. We rank uw, so i would probably be a bit higher if it was ranked W</p>
<p>I think you will be ok. If your post-freshman year grades are improved and you have an otherwise solid app, IMO, this will not hurt your application. </p>
