ok so i know that getting into Rice is getting harder and harder.
I think i stand a good chance but i've never really been a straight A student
more like "all A's and like 2 B's" student
but this year i took on a lot of AP classes which is way more than any other year
and for semester grades I'm getting all A's
do you think that this could affect my application in a good way or do they not even consider semester grades when reviewing your application?

2 B's isn't bad. Were the B's in challenging classes? Rice will see your course rigor and your high schools stats to see how bad a B really was. Upward trends can only help your application!

funny thing about my app was that I had 2 B's freshman year in english haha. I get A's in AP Calc BC and AP chem...

Anyways, your grades are just relative. They may be because you had a bad few weeks and let your grade slip or something. I don't think Rice cares too much about that. They just wanna see that upward trend/stability at the top.

bumppp....

Let's just say I had 2 B's and got accepted, if that helps.
