I kinda screwed up my freshman year by getting 3 B's and 2 A+'s and have an unweighted of a 3.54, but just finished up my sophomore year with all A+'s in 4 honors classes and one B+ in an academic (i suck at algebra) making my weighted somewhere around a 4.5 and my unweighted a 3.86, im taking 4 Ap next year, am somewhere between a student and concert classical guitarist (by senior year i should be considered a concert), am a hardcore rower (hoping to make it to nationals by senior year or get my 2k down to a 6:20!!!), have won writing awards, am attending govenors school or the Wharton summer program for highschoolers, spent time in France doing community service, Literary Magazine Editor, Newspaper editor, on the Student Council Falculty-Student Relations Commity and a bunch of other stuff, but will my poor grades in freshman year really negatively impact my chances of getting into Dartmouth? and my aunt used to be a language teacher at dartmouth and shes the one i spent the summer with doing the community service in france.

Your freshman grades won't matter that much if the rest of your HS career is great. Sounds like it will be.

thanks, im also Secretary of NHS and in French Honors Society

If you just finished your sophomore year how do you know that you're going to gov school or the wharton summer program? both are highly selective

its a tricky situation because i got into govenors school for music this year and also recieved the offer to spend the summer in France from my aunt, either this year or next year, so i might go to France this summer and apply to Wharton hoping that i get in, or go to govenors school this year and go to France next year.
