any tips for high school freshman? just started school, and want to know of any things that would help for college applications. maybe some contests, classes, things to do. anything will help!! also, i am taking pre-calc this year and AP stats, any tips for getting a five in AP and passing them.

Thanks

Wow, I think you will do fine! haha, I would be in your pre-calculus class if I went to your school, and I am going to be a junior! Freshman year isn’t too bad. Try to join clubs that you are interested in. They should have a club day where all the different representatives of each club provide you will information. Clubs are also a good way to make new friends. As far as getting a 5 goes, I would just study. Make an effort to study and concentrate in your classes. Don’t worry too much about high school, you get used to it in a week. I go to a high school with 2800 students, so I was nervous the first few days, but once you meet some new people and join some new clubs, you will adjust decently. Best of luck!:)

Yup, don’t fret too much. It takes only about a week or so before getting used to a new school. Just concentrate well in your classes, keep that GPA high, and join clubs that you find interesting.

You can be friends with anyone you want. Choose wisely.

If you start the same thread on different sites on CC it gets dumped into “latest post” so post it once.

Join a lot of clubs in the first month or two - you can always drop out of ones you dont like.
If you start with clubs freshman year, and you’re an active member, you have really high chances of becoming an officer in junior/senior year

Get heavily involved with your school, it will help you improve your college apps and you will meet a bunch of new people at the same time and learn about new topics outside of class. Also, take freshman year seriously academically because I really didn’t=]

Get involved, get involved, get involved.

Make friends. Don’t worry too much because it’s only freshman year. That said,

Do well in freshman year, but it isn’t the end of the world if you get a B. Junior/Senior years are most important, and colleges like to see an upward trend and all that. So if you’re going to have fun, do it now/next year so that you can concentrate in your last two years.

And perhaps slack only a bit at the end of senior year.
