Freshman Year Yikes

This is probably here all the time.
Freshman year was a yikes, big mess up. How screwed am I, or am I being over dramatic?

Whats my forecast looking like? How much will this haunt me when Im applying? My only reasoning for these grades was just adjusting to high school. Anything helps. Thanks. Ive been on the rebound sophomore and Junior year (Cumulative 4.3 now). A T20 school would be nice but gots to be realistic.

If you have to mess up a year, you’d want it to be freshman year. Three B’s is not the end of the world by any means. You picked a pretty ambitious schedule too… I wouldn’t have advised you to take two science classes and two foreign languages, but at least you’ve got all the cores covered, which is good.

Going forward, I would plan out your next three years of classes and do a better job of pacing yourself. Take rigorous classes (that does not mean doubling up; it means covering the cores while taking the highest level you can do well in) AND maintain a 3.8+ GPA so as to keep all your college options open.

Looking back on it I would not suggest myself either to double up. Gpa has been on the rise. Thx for the input, i literally haven’t thought about this until like 2 days ago, on how it would affect me. Lol. Thanks.

@CheesyMonkey - I think you are fine, but if you are concerned you can focus on schools that don’t use Freshmen grades to calculate GPA, such as the UCs and McGill.

Ive heard that in the past regarding the UCs, Im not concerned if I shouldnt be concerned. Sounds like im being a little over dramatic. Im just wack.
