Freshman Year

I know some, if not a lot of the upper tier colleges (ivies etc.) do not count freshman GPA in their calculation of cumulative GPA. If my freshman GPA was good (4.0), shouldn't it be fair that they count this as part of my cumulative junior year GPA? Also do colleges only take into consideration GPA based on grades regardless of the level of class taken, or would they be lenient on a B/B+ in an AP class and rigor of schedules? Thanks.

The idea is that whether you did well or not in freshman year, freshman year is not an accurate depiction of your academic skills. Most colleges look at everything they receive--that means GPA in the context of classes.
