Cumulative GPA vs. Junior year GPA???

What do you think is more important on an application? A good cumulative GPA or a great junior year transcript and GPA?

in my case, my GPA for freshman and sophomore year was good but not quite where I wanted it to be (mainly due to the fact I got a freaking C in swimming class freshman year... UGH). This year though my GPA is stellar and I want colleges to notice this more than anything else, especially because although my GPA is so good this year, it won't be enough to get it to exactly where I want my cumulative GPA to be.

Will this even make a difference on my applications???

bump, In want to know this too

gym doesnt count, BUMP

^It counts at some schools.

Mostly colleges just want to see an upward trend in grades, so you should be good. Also some colleges don’t count freshman year gpa at all (UC’s).

Colleges ultimately want to see high performance across your HS transcript. That being said, a bad grade in a non-academic course will count much less.
