so there are four class selection dates, and i'm assuming they randomly assign you to which date you get? and i'm also guessing that the earlier the date the more likely you are to get the classes you want?

can someone tell me if this is true?

thanks

For fall quarter of freshman year, yeah. You get assigned a certain time on a certain day by lottery, and that's when you're allowed to register, and the earlier the time and the date, then fewer people have registered before you and so you're more likely to get the schedule you want.

thanks for the verification

Do they inform you of your course sign up day/time for fall quarter by e-mail ? Also, do students sign up all courses same time - or, in two phases as at some other universities. Thanks

You look it up on Tritonlink, and yes, you sign up for all of your classes at the same time (unless you need to test into one of them or get department approval or something).
