is there a certain date by which we have to send in all of our ap scores?

Just wondering because I heard they want them before your orientation(In June) so they can place you in your first semester classes accordingly..

However, senior year AP scores will only arrive in July...

How do we go about this?

Your options are:

1 - Order the scores you have through Junior year to be sent now, and choose USC as an automatic score recipient for your senior scores. If you think one of your senior scores may waive a course, you can plan to put off the course that may be waived until second semester (if needed). The downside: you will have to pay for the current scores to be sent.

2 - Choose USC as an automatic score recipient for your senior tests and all scores will be sent. Bring your Junior year score report with you to orientation. Same process as above for choosing classes - put off until second semester courses you think might be waived.

To be honest, there are very few courses waived by AP scores. The big benefits of 4s and 5s on AP are the registration priority gained and the satisfaction of elective unit requirements, allowing for double-majors and/or minors. As a first semester freshman you will have a multitude of courses you will need, so it shouldn’t be a problem to put off one that might be replaced by an AP.

If the scores you receive in July make you want to change your course schedule for 1st semester, you can do that. A trick new freshmen learn is to log in at the time during subsequent orientation sessions when courses are opened for orientation and try to grab courses as they are opened for each orientation session.

In any case, choose USC as an automatic score recipient when you take your senior AP tests. There will be absolutely, positively NO reason to use score choice of any kind for your AP scores. USC will not care if you have scores of 1, 2 or 3 among your results.
