Hi I have recently enrolled and would like to know which is the cleanest dorm that is close to most buildings, especially the cafeteria. Thank you.

Also, which dorm has the largest rooms and the built in wall closets.

Hmmm…it just depends. My D. wanted to be in Forest, because that is probably the biggest freshman dorm. It was also the dorm where a lot of the fall athletes were housed. They try to keep them together since they arrive a couple of weeks early. This dorm is one of the furthest from the cafeteria. With that said…nothing is that far away at Babson. But it does get cold during the winter.

My D. has been in 3 dorms, and none of them had built in wall closets. All of them were dorms rooms with flat walls with the closet chests/armoirs.

In the freshman dorm Forest, the rooms are a variety of sizes. You could have a really nice big room or a really tiny room. My D of course I thought got the smallest room on campus as a freshman. It was unreal. Her best friend, got a beautiful huge room right next door. Just the luck of the draw!

Luckily the next year she was in a beautiful nice size room near the globe. Then her 3rd year moved into the apartments with 6 bedrooms and a living room/kitchen/bathroom shared. She loves living with her 5 friends and gets her own room. She will live there her senior year also.

Watch out for the really big rooms in some of the other dorms. They can be triples or quads. I remember, that was another reason she chose Forest, because they did not typically make those triples.I know the one we went into was the dorm with the pub, and that was a nice room with a forced tripled. A little cramped for the 3 girls, but they looked very happy.

I am sure you already looked at this site, but here it is again:

[First-Year Area | Residential Living | Babson College](http://www.babson.edu/undergraduate/student-life/residence-life/your-four-year-living-experience/Pages/first-year-area.aspx)

Just remember where ever you live it is just part of your experience. We now laugh at how my D could have possibly lived in her room…but she did survive! Maybe more important is your roommate! Good luck

Hi ! Collegemother2…I have enjoyed reading your posts and commentary about Babson. From reading your postsYour D seems to have thrived in the B environment and seems very well positioned to start a rewarding career…I wonder if you could expand on what personal an. B related attributes …major concentration …professor advising…etc. contributed most to her success. Thanks…I have a grandson starting in Sept.

Hey I know I’m probably pretty late on helping you pick a better dorm but just so that you can know what to expect I’ll post this anyways.

You should check out a map on the Babson website for the best location information. Trim is the cafeteria you will probably go to often that is on the meal plan. Reynolds is the other cafeteria that is more a-la-carte style and you normally won’t go to as often as Trim.

Out of all the freshman housing I have heard the most complaints about Forest. Some of the rooms aren’t too bad in size, but that dorm also is the one that has a record of causing trouble. The biggest issue though is that it is so far away from everything else. It is kind of ridiculous to complain about having to walk far when Babson’s campus is so small but it still bugs people.

Any of the Park Manor’s are fine. The rooms at the ends of the hall are larger in some but it is really a luck of the draw. Most, if not all, of the rooms in those halls had built in wall closets, but they usually put one more person in the room than it was originally built for so there will be at least one large closet chest for someone.

There is some variety to the size of the rooms and how many people you share a bathroom with, but really what will matter most is the roommates you have and the people who live in the rooms around you. My recommendation would be to try and meet and hang out with the people living around you right away. You want to have a good relationship with them and it is kind of awkward to try and do it later in the year when everyone has already kind of established their friends.
