So I want to live in Allison, which isn’t all freshmen (this is just an example). Am I guaranteed a freshman roommate? Will I live on an all freshmen floor? How does that work?
Thanks!!!
You will get more information about housing later this spring/summer and they seem to change the process a little bit each year. Each year there is a Facebook page created to help you find a roommate. You can go into the housing process without a roommate but last year, it was a disadvantage to do so as you were last to select a room. If you go in without a roommate, I think the odds are 99% that you would be paired with a freshman since upperclassmen select their rooms in advance of freshman. There is probably a scenario where a spot opens up in a double that has a sophomore in it but I suspect that is rare. In dorms that are not all freshman, I don’t think there are all freshman floors but it might vary by dorm. There are a lot of freshman in most dorms so not something to worry about.
Great, thanks!
You almost definitely will have a freshman roommate. There are multiple reasons as to why, but I’ll just say it’s HIGHLY unlikely. Like @AnonMom13 said, there is a page that will end up happening to find roommates, and I’d suggest trying to find someone. There aren’t any all-freshmen areas other than Elder being totally freshmen. It might work out that people on a floor are all freshmen, but that’d just be a funny coincidence.
