Freshmen Fall Schedue

This is how my freshman 1st semester schedule will look like.

General Chemistry 4 units
Calculus 4 units
English Reading and Comprehension 4 units
And an elective (What class should I choose?)

Instead of the elective, should I take general physics or will that be too intense?

If I decide to take an elective, what kind of elective should I take? A science elective called Brain and Drugs or just Psychology?

My advising has always told me this:

Do not take classes in science departments that are generally considered to be "for non-majors". If Brain and Drugs is under the BCPM headings but is generally considered a lightweight (whether accurately or not), then sorry, but it's off-limits to premeds. At Duke, for example, "AIDS and Emerging Diseases", "Biology of Dinosaurs", "The Changing Earth", etc., are not permitted. AIDS in particular is actually an engaging and difficult course, but it's still designed for non-science majors and as such should not be taken by premeds.

Lightweight courses are fine - so long as they're not BCPM.

Take an elective that will fulfill some sort of gen ed requirements, or is the first course in your major (unless you are a chem major, in which case you are doing that).
