11 Hours Total.

English and History are the only subjects I want to study.
There seem to be very few English majors in America, from what I’ve seen online.

I just found out part of my schedule that I’m pre-registered for as a music major. It was on my online account. Previously I posted what I’d like to take…so far, this is what I have for sure.

Gateway 100- Lincoln & the Civil War (freshman writing course)- 1 unit
Music 207- Keyboard Harmony I- 0.5 unit

Gateway course is Tues/Thurs 8:00-9:15 am and Keyboard Harmony is Mon-Wed 2:00-2:50 pm

They also signed me up for Music Theory I, but I’m taking a placement test and should be out of that.

1 unit = 4 credits/semester hours

What else I’ll probably be adding on registration day: piano lessons, clarinet lessons, ensemble, history course (my other major), econ gen ed course…so that’s another 3 units…total of 4.5 units then * 4 credits = 18 credits/semester hours

If you’re judging by what’s on CC then you won’t run into many. On the contrary, there are a lot of English majors out there, and a lot of the exchange students I’ve met are English majors. Your schedule looks really interesting! Good luck!

After hours and hours of work, accommodating all of the schedules and distribution requirements and my sanity while I’m slaving away at my killer courses, I’ve come up with a more realistic schedule that tries to fit everything I want.

Fall 2011
MATH 111: Calculus I MWF
PHIL 100: The Good Life TTH

PSYC 110: Principles of Psychology MWF
ENGL 160: Intro to Creative Writing TTH
MUSC 187: Carleton Orchestra MTTH (Or Piano, Non-J’ed)

More realistic because

I have distribution requirements to fulfill, unfortunately

I don’t want to take too much of the same thing at once. Like, Math/Physics, to overwhelm me

I crammed all the hard courses in Winter

Piano/Orchestra is more of a hobby

I got rid of Latin because I won’t be able to take it for a while, and it’s useless to start on it and forget everything subsequently. Plus, language is a huge commitment and I don’t want to burn out before Freshman year. Greek is enough; two is too much.

I am taking:
french (M to F) 8
latin american politics (M-W) 9
Performance on stage analysis (M-W) 3pm
Tennis (T-T)11am
Acting (M-W)12 pm
Lifeguard Training (T-T) 9am
Crew (M to Th) 6am

Only 12 credits, I hope I can handle so many sports.

Was on Music and music lab but at last minute craziness switched to acting.
