It would be a pleasure if someone could help me!!

Thank you so much!!! ^^

If there are any opportunities to take APs as a sophomore, try to do that. Maybe get more involved in extracurricular activities, but remember to have a focus. It’s not so much about doing a million and one things as it is about showing passion in a few areas. Depending on your interests, you could maybe start a club or gain leadership in clubs and try to gain recognition in the area of interest and so on.

I am a current HS freshman too, and next year I will be taking AP US History. If your school offers it I suggest taking it.

@JasonDrapYea…I have been thinking about taking AP US History as well, but the teachers at my school (or so they say) aren’t as good and their way of teaching (so students say) doesn’t seem to be able to teach.

@dblazer, Yes, I have also been thinking about starting my own club of interest and I feel that you are right about showing passion about something.
So far for interest I like…Photography, Culinary, Chorus, and Tennis.

Thank you guys uber much! I really appreciate your thoughtful comments! ^^

Yea… I know what you mean, that’s like my history teacher this year.

Hahaha…:slight_smile:
There are actually a few teachers like that…X3

Self studying for some APs can help. I selfed APUSH, APES and AP Psych this year as a 9th grader. It wasn’t too hard. Some of the easier APs that you can self study are AP Enviro, Human Geo, Stat and Psych. APUSH wasn’t that hard, just make sure to read in advance and know the proper format for the FRQs.

Whats APES?
uhh…that is a really good idea!
Thank you!

I think it’s AP environmental science

Hey! I’m a freshmen also. I thought I was the only one looking into colleges. What colleges do you have in mind right now? Good schedule but try to get into an AP class Sophomore year. You seem like a well rounded student but don’t fall into the stereotype colleges have for Asians. Tennis and Piano playing, applying as a Biology major, is basically what they see all the time from Asians. Break out and do things different and outside the box. Apply with an interesting major. Haha well and of course ACE the SAT or ACT cheers, and have a great day.

i wish i was like you guys and actually cared about HS my first 2 years :confused: but OP, definitely try to get into an AP course if possible.

@giatns4210…ohh…thank you! ^^
@Goldmind…haha…stereotypical asians…I actually don’t fit that category because a lot of people see me as an asian who doesnt hold back, when most asians do. I actually like the arts and I do plan on taking AP courses for science and math, but not majoring it in. I actually really like singing…but I’m really shy about it :stuck_out_tongue:
You have a great day too!!
@mathela…okey dokey :slight_smile: I will try to get into as many AP courses as possible :)

hey Atummie, definitely go after APs, not only because it looks good on college apps but also because, in my opinion, its just a better way of life. The teachers are more passionate towards their AP classes and you’ll be in classes with like-minded motivated students (for the most part :P) Additionally, the AP kids become a bit of a family and, by senior year, have so moved up the social ranks that they are the 2nd “coolest, most influential” clique after the usual crop of beautiful, affable, yet mentally challenged jocks. Well, at least at my school.

@mathela…
i definitely believe you are right about AP classes being a better way in life. haha…my school consists of “bad” people, especially in my class. BUT i do agree that TO ME, AP kids are coolio!
Naw…i think they are soooo much better than those “mentally challenged jocks” and preppy people. Is there more things to do an AP, because the only thing I’m scared of would be that my GPA will go down if i take AP classes and can’t follow it through as well. But…
Thank you for the wonderful advice!
Unlike many other people in cc, you are very nice and helpful!
