Also considering maybe cross country team and track in the spring.

Please give me comments or suggestions - especially from the elder cc users and please be nicee :)

Is it standard/common for Freshmen to take AP US History as freshmen? If so, what do you take later on?

It certainly looks balanced yet challenging, but you know your school and yourself much better than any of us could. You’re really the better judge of what’s reasonable.

For my school, APUSH is like a substitute for the traditional honors us history class. My teachers let you take it if you think you are up to the challenge.
As for later on, ap us government for 10th grade and ap[ world history for 11th grade i think.
THankyou, Uroogla. I definitely know myself better.
But I think it is always fun in some way to be able to hear what others think.
Thanks again.

Ap us history as a freshman? I have never heard of this. Most people take it as a junior. This schedule seems almost too rigorous for a freshman. Just make sure you can handle it. Best of luck.

I think you should take physics before you join Physics Team… imo. Anyway… The schedule is nice. Honestly if you’re a dedicated student, work hard, motivate yourself this schedule should be fine, and I don’t doubt you could come out with ~3.8+ (UW). Take it easy, don’t get burned out.
If you’re only taking these classes to look good for college, you need to rethink this. If you are taking these classes because you want a challange and are really really interested in learning, then keep it up. Mind you that High School IS different than middle school.
Best of luck!
Also see if you have time for XC and track, they are really timely sports! (Do what you like, like what you do!)

Nice schedule, good luck in high school. Definitely give the AMC 12 a shot, even though it’s harder, by 11th-12th grade, you should be getting really high scores on it and should qualify for the AIME.

Without precalc, the AMC 10 is probably the test you’ll be better prepared for, while the AMC 12 will challenge you more and give you a sense of where you’d need to be to make the next round once you can only take the AMC 12.

Lol, i started preparing for AMC 12 already.
I tried a lot a of tests and my scores are in the 120’s and for AMC10 upper 130’s.
I heard that only AMC12 takes you to USAMO so that’s why i have to take it.
But if i can take amc10 and still proceed, then i will definitely go with that.
Lost in thought, you are right. I am doing alll these to see challenge and also i like learning more. I mean, always do something because you like it or you think is good but not because what others say.
Thank you guys again.

For physics team, should i just get a honors textbook from my teacher and start reading ?,since I already have some background about the subject and my maths is pretty decent imo. lol, the punctuation is bad here.
ANd also for xc we are doing 5k i think and how should i start preparing for it. I have a 5:40 mile and have some experience running 5ks when i had to run home form school because my parents couldn’t pick me up, lol.
Thankyou all again for being so supportive.

With the AMC 10, if you score high enough to make AIME, the cutoff to make USAMO is based solely on your AIME score, rather than the combination of the two.

I took 0 APs as a freshman and never took chemistry at all, let alone at the AP level. I still got into college.

Taking AP courses for the sake of taking AP courses is foolish, particularly if they leave you with nothing further to take or if you don’t do well.
