Freshmen year seminars

I'm close to finishing my freshmen year seminar (mine was on landscape art). I personally had a good experience-I liked both the topic and the professor. I've heard mixed results from a few others-some had a similar positive experience as me..others said that their professors saw the seminar as a platform to talk for close to the full 75 minutes about his/her opinions.

Other thoughts/experiences?

I'm pre-registered for Fr. Malloy's seminar for next semester. It's only once a week, Sunday night. I've heard it can be a life-changing class taught by this past president of ND, so I'm excited. Hopefully not too much work! My FYC class was really interesting.

It's awesome, justbumming. A book per week, but it's definitely doable. I'm assuming you registered at 8:00 AM on the first day?

I have my seminar next semester. I had a really late registration time so almost all the seminars were full when I tried to register. I missed when they added a spot in each one so I had to settle for Iranian cinema. Fun, I know.

Late registration times really weren't kind as far as seminars go. The only one I could take was the East Asian Literature Seminar. We'll see how that goes.

Who teaches your East Asian Lit seminar? Depending on the prof, it could be good. There are some really good profs in the EALC dept. Also, my roommate last year took Monk Malloy's class and loved it. She ended up getting to know her classmates really well too.
