what all do you do on friday nights and weekends? I don't drink and my school doesn't really sponsor great events...so I'm curious how you all have fun on weekends so I get some ideas.

often times my weekend starts on thursdays. some friends and i, the Thursday Night Crew, toke on campus somewhere and wander a round for a while looking for the idealized and oh-so-perfect smoke spot. After a while, we settle for our home place: the Bench, on top of a hill on a grassy knoll on campus.
Then we search for food, hopefully someone can bring some (one time a friend brought cookies that his gf sent him,....it was amazing). sometimes at around 1:30 am, there's a chinese food place that sells flavored noodles for $1.50.

Friday night, after i'm done with hmwk and what not, the hunt begins to find something to do, and there's always something to do: if you're bored with Berkeley, you're bored with life. Either i make my contacts and find a good frat party, or kick back with some close friends. One time, we got some guitars, upturned a waste basket and had a hootenanie. If not there's playing cards going out with some girl, or seeing a movie. or a repeat of thursday if the stars are right.

Saturday morning, comes the recooperation: brunch at the dining common, where whatever ails you can be cured by an omelete (sp?). Saturday night can present a wonderful array of opportunities. Lets say its fall, and Cal just won a football game at home: it's time to wander the streets and soak up the vibe. On another saturday night, it could be dead, or you can kick it in someone's room and play some beruit. if there's not a frat party, then MarioKart can substitute for a GREAT time with a few people. See Thursday for an alternate activity: again, if the feeling is right.
Sunday morning comes the DC again, followed by laundry.
Saturday and sunday during the day: relaxation and recreation, laying on the grass, playing frisbee, football, soccer, or watching a movie.

I think if you want a good time, you can find it, no matter if you don't drink/smoke or w/e. there's a moment to be had take it: as the general says, "you are young men you must be living!"

Weekends start on Thursdays. Unfortunately, I pretty much only drink on weekends so I don't think I can really help you. When I'm sick of that though I'll go to a movie. That's always a good time, and if you pick the right movie (with lots of 'splosions) you can get the sober and drunk alike to enjoy it. Comedies are pretty good, but nothing beats explosions.

Tonight I grabbed dinner with a friend, then went to an improv show! It was pretty fun. Afterwards, we went down the street and got bubble tea and I tried sushi for the first time. If you feel that your school doesn't put on great events, let someone know about it! Student government officials are usually receptive to suggestions.

On the occasional Friday, I'll go to sushi with my roommates. Aside from that, I pretty much do homework on Fridays and throughout the weekend.

Last night we had a bonfire.

I don't drink either...I just go to the movies, out to eat, hang out at someone's place, head over the Monroe, relax by myself, or go home on the weekends. I've never had a problem with keeping myself entertained.

I'll usually go out with my friends for dinner or a movie, or hang out at someone's house and just talk or play board games. On sat/sun, there's usually homework, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, etc to do.

You could create a board game and movie night with your friends, or research places to go in your city/town if there is transportation.

Honestly? Homework. Especially Friday nights, that's group project time.

If I were actually going to do things, it would be stuff like going to the movies or out for dinner, hanging out at somebody's apartment and watching movies, getting a whole bunch of people together and having a game night, that sort of thing. I don't drink and my school doesn't really have a lot of events either, but it's in the city so there are always places to go anyway. The trick is finding people who don't need to be raging drunk at a party all weekend to have fun, not finding actual things to do.

This semester, I've been working or having rehearsals on Friday nights, and topping that off with trying to get all my hw done for the weekend. And then starting next Friday, I'll be having shows on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. Before, I would work on Sundays and Saturday nights, and have rehearsals on Saturday afternoons. Sometimes I have sorority stuff on Saturday afternoons, but that's only about once a month or so. And last semester, I tended to get together with friends and have movie nights.

you can still go to parties without drinking
