^ Yeah, ok that's smart. No, if he's on something other than pot than yeah there's some issues. However, he will not get off of it simply because you tell him or tell an adult. In fact, he will probably stop talking to you if you tell an adult. Simply be there for him and make sure he knows that you're available to talk. He needs somebody to be there in case he gets in trouble.

Note: this is not meant as an attack, but rather as a question.

Many of you have said things akin to "Oh, if it's pot then it's okay." Why do you say this? I mean, are the medical and psychological effects of pot really that harmless?

^Only if you take too much in one dose or take them regularly on a long term basis. I know some people who smoked pot on a regular basis but just decided to mature out of it after a few months and completely stopped, and they are perfectly healthy.

You also have to know what your body can take and what your body can't take, It's simply a matter of self-control.

This can apply to alcohol, tobacco, and especially gaming.

^^ Liist.... did you just compare bodily harmful toxins to gaming.... are you retarded? Use some commonsense before you talk and tangibly relate things to each other.... i dont think alcohol and drugs correlate to similar effects induced by gaming.... clearly we have liver problems and smoke filled lungs when we game....

therefore, brain is not organ. What is brain then? Video games can be good for you. Shooters= reaction times. RTS= resource management/ tactics. Depends on type of game.
Oh, and on drugs? I don't have any experience with them, but I've seen some kids at school smoke pot and they function normally. On harder stuff, its kind of hard to reason with a druggie though. Unless you can have him under 24 hour surveillance, you can't really do anything.

^^ Agreed. The reason I said don't worry about the pot is because honestly it's not that big of a deal, at least not in comparison to the other harder drugs. My parents have smoked pot for thirty years and managed to live productive lives.

I never realized how many people on this site are addicted to gaming. Excuseeeee me. I guess I'll have to be careful when making fun of gaming. lulz
