Thanks Stanford. I do realize what you say about Iranians not getting AA, but I don't understand why it works that way. I think I would bring more diversity to a university because of the fact that I know a different culture and can speak a different language, and have a different religion (Muslim) than most applicants. Why does the fact that my skin is the same color as my blonde neighbor make me less diverse? A lot of AA applicants are black or Hispanic, but since they were raised in the same homogenous culture as white people, don't bring very much diversity. Just my opinion, does anybody else know why it works that way?

thats actually not true (watch BET). AA is supposed to target blacks and hispanics that live in underachieving urban neighborhoods. and yes being iranian does qualify for diversity, but iranians are not underrepresented in most schools compared to the demographic of the entire nation. (i guess being iranian counts lol as an EC?)

oh wait junetorbati, i didnt realize you were a junior. that changes alot. if you can pump up that SAT and grab a few more officerships, you stand a good chance. (and keep up that gpa, i didnt during my junior yr). basically just work hard, and maybe look for opportunities in ur field of interest. (if looking for science, try and get a research opportunity at a local college, and such)
