From 2080 on SAT to 33 on ACT - One Week!

I got this on SAT: 740V, 670 M and 670W.

I am taking ACTs this saturday.

What can I do? What should I do this week to utilize my study time? Is it possible to pull off a 33?

Note, I have PRinceton Review 2005 Edition, Sparknotes has their online guide, and I have the Kaplan strategies for busy students (but I think I will return this for the Real ACT Guide with real test)

7 days to go, what do I do?

work on timing for the science! it screws up a lot of people for sure...just practice doing it fast cuz i believe you have like 35 minutes to answer like......idk 40 questions? i forget...something like that though...and you look like you'll be ok with the other sections..but just do a couple practice tests i guess to make sure..

Just to let you know, I had exactly the same SAT score that you did, and I took the ACT and got a 35. Take the three practice tests in the red "Real ACT" prep book, that's all I did.
Good luck

Nice red shirt!

How long did it take you to study? How did you study? How many hours did you spend a day? What did you do in those hours? Did you only study for one week?

How did I study? I tried to review the math stuff first, but I got kind of bored so I just started taking practice tests. I think the main thing is to get familiar with the test, the format of the questions, and especially the time constraints. I didn't study over quite as short a period as you, but it was still pretty short, like two weeks. First I took a practice test without the timing, just to see how far I could comfortably get before the time kicked in. Then I took three more timed, and each test in one sitting in a quiet place in an attempt to recreate the testing situation. Then a couple of nights I just grabbed the writing, science, or math sections, sat down in front of the tv and just did the questions just informally. It really is about familiarity with the questions (that is, if you think you know the material). Also, the performance on the practice tests may not completely reflect how you will do on test day. I consistently got 29's on the math practice tests, but on test day, I got a 34. Just get used to the questions, and good luck!

I just took an English and Math practice test...

71 raw/34 on English
49 raw/29 on Math... (two days ago I got 42 raw/27)

On math it seemed that although I had to skip a few towards the beginning and middle, I had to rush through them when I got back to them AND finish the last five which were hard.

Any other tips and ideas??

Red shirt, thank you for the tips, those ideas make sense, I will try them.

Study the concepts for math if it is not your strong suit.
=P i suck at math and that's all i studied the night before and i ended up with a 32 on math. When i got my 34 composite, I only studied the night before so it's definitely doable.

For all reading sections, keep your fiddling time to 30 seconds or less per question.

Wow Red_Shirt 35? darn!
