New York University Steinhardt School of Education, Culture and Human Development. Originally I wanted to pursue a career in the sciences. However, after taking a number of science courses, I realized that its not for me. My passion is not in the natural sciences, but rather in the social sciences. The reason I am choosing NYU Steinhardt is because of their unique program of study in applied psychology which is closely linked with the multi-cultural setting of the big city.

I've messed up academically. I dropped out of school, parents going though divorce along with losing our home. It was too much and I couldn't function properly. I was inspired to pursue a career as a social worker as I was waiting in line to hand-in my documents to receive food stamps and medicaid... tmi..

Okay community college record: GPA 3.89; member of Phi Theta Kappa and Psi Beta. Currently a Math and Science major (A.S.). Have completed 48 credits; will have 58 credits by the end of this semester. Most of the courses I've taken are in the sciences (calc, gen chem, gen bio, etc.)
I do volunteer as an EMS dispatcher, and I also worked as a student orientation leader for my school. I also presented an honors research project at my school within the chemistry dept.

Thank you for reading and hopefully giving some optimistic responses!

P.S. I am in the process of transfering for the Spring of 2015. (Will NOT be graduating from CC)
