From Liberal Studies to Goldman Sachs Interviews

Hi folks. I just finished my first semester of junior year as a CAS economics major.

Some background:
I started off as LSP for the first two years. I declared economics as a major at the beginning of my sophomore year.
Firms recruit business students starting mid-late November to early February, and I've interviewed with JPMorgan a few weeks ago and have an upcoming interview with Goldman Sachs in January.
I mention this not to brag but to emphasize that it doesn't matter where you start off with or what your background is. I'd say it's more of showing interest, genuine passion, and previous professional experience to show you'd be a potential fit for the firm.

So I suppose my knowledge would be more limited to the business/quasi-Stern lifestyle, but I'd be happy to answer general inquiries too.

Also I noticed that Early Decision results came out so congrats to those who've been accepted! Take pride in your achievement, and whether you commit to NYU or not, hopefully I can serve as an information source for you lucky high school seniors.

im a freshman at stern right now. do you know what path i should take to try to land professional experience. I really want an internship this coming summer just so I can get the ball rolling.

@rodrigo9‌ I guess it depends on what industry you want to go into.
Are you looking at investment banking?

@someguyincollege Yeah as of now I am aiming for investment banking… if my interests change then I will adapt to that. but definitely in the finance industry.
