From one CC to another CC in state. Tons of issues with transfer.

Hello. I moved to a new city within the state and came from a CC. From my understanding there is not suppose to really be issues as all state schools use the same course numbers. Well it looks like they are going to pretty much count three classes of mine as college electives. This is complete BS... The only difference is the last few numbers and they wont count it. Having 3 classes thrown out is a really big deal for me. I might as well just move back to my old town and finish college. How can I contest this because I am really mad.

Second thing is I can't sign up for classes this semester. I sent my college transcript over months ago thinking they would process it as soon as they got it. I was wrong as they wont touch it until they have your high school transcript along with the A OK you don't need CPT's. So my transcripts have not even been processed yet and wont be done until start of spring it looks like. Now they are asking for another unofficial transcript which they have seen twice before. It should have been entered in the system that they had seen my transcript but the two counselors who had seen me left parts of the application blank. It is months later and I can't login to my old CC account to print an unofficial transcript. I can't call them either as they need you to bring your student ID to the college to get access to the records. There is no way I can get them my unofficial records until spring which will be to late as classes are just about full now.

1) Normally, there are formal transfer equivalencies published for all of the institutions within a state system. You need to ask the admissions officer at College 2 to show you the website where you can look up the courses from College 2 to see what they count for at College 2. The course numbers don’t necessarily matter at all, just what the institutions have agreed are the same.

2) Pick up the phone, call your old college and ask how to log into the system. They should be able to tell you. If it is simply impossible to get another unofficial transcript, pay for an official one instead.

Good luck!

They will not deal with accounts over the phone everything has to be in person or faxed. Both of these options would take a few days and I will not be back in either town until Jan. Most the classes are already full and if I don’t have things taken care of today I am not going to get any classes.
