From Pinellas to UF, best route?

So I live in Palm Harbor, which is in Pinellas County. The two main routes are either taking I75 or US 19 to Gainesville.

Google maps say that they are about the same time so I was wondering if anyone here could give their opinion on the best route.

I75 all the way. 19 will take forever and a day

Toss up. I don’t like I-75 because it is often congested with too much traffic, and if you’re not doing at least 80 mph you’ll get blown off the h’way by trucks. U.S. 19 is congested and has traffic signals to slow you down every mile from Pinellas up to S.R. 50 at Weeki Wachee–north of there is smooth sailing with only a few traffic signals in Crystal River to slow you down.

From Palm Harbor area consider driving this route: north Suncoast Parkway to end at U.S. 98, then n. U.S. 98, n. U.S. 19, n. S.R. 121 to Gainesville. This route is less congested and pretty fast to Hogtown and is more scenic in my opinion. The only trouble with this route is if you breakdown at night along S.R. 121 in the middle of night it isn’t patrolled by FHP much like I-75. Too on the back roads you might hit a deer or hog at night more likely than 75.
