Geez – I want to go!

Oh my gosh – D is going to be thrilled to the teeth over this! My sister works for the American Library Association and D has always attended conventions, met authors and received advance reader copies of many young adult books. To have this bought right to their doorstep will be terrific for the Chapman kids! D is so upset at having to leave most of her book collection behind her at home and has spent the last few months reading the Harry Potter series to her 8 yo brothers, in the hope of transferring all her favorite childhood books into their young brains before she jets off for college.

The Big Orange Book Festival debuts at Chapman University this Friday and Saturday with appearances by a few dozen writers including well-known novelists such as Alice Sebold, author of the novel “The Lovely Bones” and the memoir “Lucky,” and Sapphire, whose novel “Push” was adapted into the Oscar-winning movie “Precious.”
