The Lovely Bones

I guess we are supposed to read this book, “The Lovely Bones”, by the end of summer. Is anyone going to read it? Go to this link and check it out: http://www.preface.calpoly.edu/

i thought we had to? just because of the discussion things. well i'll read it anyway just in case. if i find it's a waste of time... then oh well.

dude that book is hella messed
i read it in middle school, bad move

I'm going to end up reading it. I was just curious if it's one of those things that is suggested But no one does.

I doubt we are going to be tested in anyway on this book, hence we will all be in or NOT in (me =D ) different english classes...

I remember reading that we will be given a lecture by the author and have the opportunity to ask questions, so this reading assignment is purely self interest i think.

I will try reading the book probably at the end of august, at my leisure, if its a hassle to read and seems like a waste of time, I will stop and not pressure myself into reading it. But I think it is a pretty good opportunity given to us (meeting the author), I hope the book is good, and I reccommend that everyone atleast attempts reading it like i will.

...anyway i havent read anything since Senior Yr, 2nd semester started, so this might be good 4 me =P

i just read this book a few months ago. it's page turning, but it's kind of disturbing... i don't see how we can get much educational benefit out of it. when i found out we had to read it i groaned.
last year they got to read kite runner which is a REALLY good book. a true story.. and it took place in the bay area!

ohh yea, i read kite runner in like a week...which was super fast for me since i'm not really a fast reader. it was so awesome, i loved it. too bad i didnt go to the author thing, it was held in the PAC...

I just finished reading The Lovely Bones for the summer thing. It didn't take too long and I'm not much of reader (EE major)... haha. but yeah, personally I liked it a lot, great author.

i just started reading it and it's actually kind of interesting. depressing & creepy, yet interesting.

ok.. i assume you dont really need to read if you arent taking english 134, yeah?

if you are going to wow week it seems like you guys have to discuss the book in your wow group... err... get to bond over a novel. different.

HAhah, I had to read a different book for WOW 2 years ago. I thought it was required and read it. Then when our group and another sat down to discuss, I found out no one had read not even the group leaders (they told everyone to just B.S.). So anyways, I would read the book if you enjoy it, but to tell you the truth I think Cal Poly uses this to get the author some money and they get a nice percentage cut. So, to make it straight, you do not have to read the book nor will you get tested on it. Likewise, be glad you didn't read this book about Granny D. oh man it was soooo borring.....
