I just took one last practice test. I seem to be getting worse. My math is turning into mid 600s from 700s because i am all of a sudden making stupid arithmatic errors and i seem to be able to solve less of the hard problems. is the actual test similar in difficulty to the BB tests?

Surprisingly, my reading comp which was horrible has very strong all of a sudden. On the other hand, the vocab that were free points are killing me now.

Maybe its because of the pressure now that the SATs are two days away.

What are your tips for tomorow? My plan is just to skim through the idioms and few vocab words briefly and just look over a few math problems that i have gotten wrong in the past.

Should i just not do anything instead?

Also, how do you guys stay focused on EVERY section? I always seem to do poorly on the second math and second reading sections but well on the first and last ones. Its not because i get tired, i think i become less alert and stuff.

Also, what foods should i bring and how do you guys manage your breaks?

im taking the test saturday as well. lemme tell you exactly what to do today.
NOTHING. eat well, make sure your stomachs god for test day, and plan when you will go to sleep. pack your bag if you are taking one ahead of time too.
looking over questions now will not help you, last minute cramming for a 3 hour test is fail.
PS: as you exhaust your mind, it is easier to make simple and careless mistakes. which is why your math is decreasing. but cr is up because you are still learning the vocab and how to understand the passage.

so do nothing? zippo? not even review like 20 words that i learned previously but forgot or review a few math concepts?

On a more serious note…
I second the motion of doing NOTHING. Do the math slowly on the actual test date, try not to use your calculator too much. CR? I failed that, so I won’t give you advice. Vocab–don’t look at it until the actual SAT.

don’t worry, just relax. The same thing has been happening to me - I’ve suddenly gone from getting 800’s on math practice tests to somehow scoring in the mid-650’s. My CR score kinda did the same thing - I scored a 740 on my last actual SAT but got a 620 on the practice test I just took.
this worried me a ton at first, but then I realized that how one performs on a practice test and on test day are two very different things. plus, practice tests which are not actual SATs [from non-collegeboard test prep books ] may or may not be 100% representative of actual SATs.

just relax, and good luck to all of us tomorrow morning :]
