Hi

I'm a second year student at RIT. I spent my first year doing the core courses. I spent the Fall Semester of my second year doing a major in CIAS while I'm spending the Spring Semester doing a major in COS.

I'm not interested in this. I truly thought I would be. Over the summer, I visited the sonography department to see about being transferred in. I was told there weren't enough seats. I thought to myself, okay I'll stick to this major. At the end of the semester, I hated it so I switched to my current major. Again, I'm hating this. The ONLY major I truly want to do is sonography/ultrasound. I feel like I'm wasting time AND money, especially my second year of college because I am funded by VR and it's only good until 2016.

I'm just frustrated. I don't want to leave RIT because it's a good school, a private university, and has great support services. I've also found a life here, great friends and a great boyfriend that I couldn't find anywhere else due to being "mainstreamed" in a hearing setting (though I do speak, don't sign). I even tried to go to CMS to see if I could make my own sonography major but I can't because the classes are closed. I even have an interest in Nutrition Manangement but it's also closed!

I could transfer to one of the PA SSHE because VR supports PA SSHE schools but I don't want to leave this school. What should I do? Try a gap year?
