Frustrated with an imperfect GPA

Just got my report card in the mail today, it's virtually identical to last semester's. 6 As, a single B, and a 3.87 GPA. It bothers me a lot how ugly my UW GPA is, and how ugly that B is. The B is in Honors PreCalc, which I bumped up to after two years of straight As in regular math classes. I know I could be getting a VERY easy A in regular classes, but I went up to Honors anyway. >_>

Anyway, no regrets now, already signed up for Calc BC, which is, supposedly, slightly less confounding than PreCalc. I just really, really hope that my math grade doesn't screw me over for college admissions, and I'm looking to bolster my math creds with excellent scores in SAT I Math and Math II.

Just felt like ranting a bit, because this has been bothering me for a while.

Yeah, getting all A’s and one B is annoying, but it’s not going to kill your chances at college admissions. If you do well on the SAT math tests, and good in Calc BC, you’ll be fine.

I got two B’s my freshman year, my UW is 3.94. It’s not going to kill your chances, I got into all the schools I applied to, a few of them top colleges, so don’t worry.

There are plenty of people who get into the top schools without having a perfect UW GPA. Put the past behind you and look to the future as something filled with opportunity. The fact that you’re even on CC shows that you care, and will probably do well in life.

It’s a B, chill.

I would’ve understood you last year OP, but after my grades this year…

don’t complain

You deserve a slap. Slap yourself. Stop crying over a B

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

^ nicest way of saying it.

It’s not as if it’s the only B you’ll ever get in your life. Don’t stress over it.

All I have to say is 3.99. That is my GPA, and would you like to know why? First off, my backwoods, hick town school doesn’t weigh grades, so I can’t pull it up with any of the THREE AP classes the school offers. Mostly though, it is because I got an A- in wood shop freshman year. Obviously a college wont refuse me on those grounds alone, but I will still have to listen to the 29 ACT valedictorian who took easy classes give her speech written in fifth grade diction. I love a good rant thread<3
