Ok so what's the deal. I submitted my app mid november and things were going smoothly and my app status changed to "we have recieved all materials" on nov 25. Guess what? No change ever since. With that big wave that just head it only adds to the frustration. I have a 3.3 GPA and a 1980 SAT so I owuld understand if I got in later but this last wave changed that. This is because my friends have alreaady heard back with admission when they applied later and have lesser stats such as gpa of 3.25 and around that ball park. Anybody else in this boat and/or know what's going on??

I’m still on “awaiting review” so… I feel ya.

did your friend with the 3.25 GPA get in? jw

He did. Is it me, or does it seem like they are accepting a lot more ppl this year and a lot less demanding as far as academics?

appledude99 - I don’t know how the admissions office chooses who to admit first and such, but I do know people with 3.2s and 1900s who got in in past years. I don’t know how their essays were, but in my humble opinion… their EC’s weren’t too great. They were pretty general, no leadership or excessive time commitment. I don’t know if they’re necessarily accepting MORE people (however, they are accepting more OOS students to get money)… but I wouldn’t say ‘a lot less demanding’ when we’re talking about academics. Maybe your friend had some hook that you didn’t know about. However, it does intrigue me how early he got in.

appledude99- i dont know, but i hope they continue that trend because i have about a 3.2 UW GPA also :/

If you have around a 3.2-3.3 UW GPA, I hope your essays were beautiful. =)

I agree with everyone else; I have a pretty low GPA for UW so hearing this makes me hopeful. But I’m not setting my sights too high.
