FSA ID question

I have filled out the FAFSA for my son, who is a senior in high school. We both filled out the paperwork to generate our FSA IDs. We each landed on a screen that said, “Your FSA ID has been created. You can use your FSA ID to submit your FAFSA.”

My silly question is, where do I find the actual FSA ID? I have seen form after form talking about this mysterious ID. Now apparently, S and I each have one. But I have flipped through the FSA ID pages on the .gov website, and I don’t see the actual IDs. Are they emailed to us? Are they sent through mail? Is it somewhere on the site that I’m just not seeing? Are our usernames for the FSA ID website the FSA IDs?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You created a username and password, that is your FSA ID. When you both link your taxes to the FAFSA it will ask for the respective FSA ID. When you sign the FAFSA before submitting it, you sign with a student and a parent FSA ID.

When the student applies for student loan he will use his FSA ID.

OK, thanks. I thought it was a separate ID that the system generated for us.
