Having trouble with fafsa parent signature please help!!

When i put in the fsa id username and password it said it didn’t match the parent information so it wont sign. I submitted my fafsa but it still doesnt have a signature. I tried changing the password and I pressed forgot username and got the username but when I put both things in it said it still didnt match. What should I do?

Did you mix up parent 1 and 2?

Parent SSN correct?

In what way?

the ssn were already pre filled from when i first put them in, so i didnt have to put anything in for that

Well for example on my D’s FAFSA her dad is parent 1 and I am parent 2. The name and soc sec number goes with a particular parent.
If I try to sign as parent 1 then it won’t match my information.

do parents have a different fsa id and password?

Your parents need their OWN FSA ID and password.

Yours won’t work for them.

One of your parents needs to get this…

Well only one of us has a FSA ID but I thought when you sign it asks about parent 1 or 2

The student signs with the student FSA ID.

ONE parent needs to have their own as well so there is a parent signature as well.

Do either of your parents have a FSA ID?

Yes student has a FSA ID and one parent needs to get one.

I think my problem was my parent never created a fsa id, if they do this will it work or is it too late?

It should work. one parent needs to apply for this right now.

I think you cannthen go back into that fafsa…and have them electronically sign…I think.

@kelsmom

it worked!! thank you all @thumper1 @mommdc

Now…just keep all of that fafsa log in information in a very safe place. You will need it all again next year. The same numbers are used.

If you, the student, take out federally funded loans, these same numbers are used for that too (or at least that was the case before the new login protocol took place).
