I was wondering if anyone can give some insight on the reputation of The Farmer School of Business versus that of The Carlson School of Management at The University of Minnesota? Academics, internships, careers after college? Both seem like very good options in their own different ways, but I am looking for other opinion on this as well.
Applied and accepted to both. They are very different in every way. It is also impossible to compare both business schools without comparing Miami vs Minnesota.
Carlson is more selective and more prestigious than Farmer.
Carlson requires an international experience as part of the program. .
City vs small town.
Big Ten school vs Mid American school.
Weather in Minnesota vs weather in Ohio.
Smaller school vs larger school
Miami Feels more like a large Private school
Carlson has a very high placement for its students after graduation. Also being in the city, you might have more access to internships.
Miami on the other hand is very generous with Merit. If you are out of state, Miami might be a good financial option assuming you were able to secure a good merit scholarship.
In the end, it all comes down to your personal preferences and finances… BOTH ARE VERY GOOD BUSINESS SCHOOLS, I give the edge to Carlson,
