In a tweet by FSU admissions, they stated that there were around 57,000 applications received this far and they admitted 19,000 today. That is 33%. Wow.
IIRC, not all 57k applications were fully complete (as in sent in/reported SAT and ACT scores) and won’t be counted when the acceptance rate is calculated.
From the FSU Admissions Facebook page:
Here are the latest FSU admission statistics:
Applications: Almost 57,000 (up 11.9% from last year)
Accepted: 19,230 students
Recalculated Core Weighted GPA: 4.0-4.5
SAT: 1250-1380
ACT: 27-32
Out-of-state: Admit rate: 19.5%; apps increased by 41%
First gen: 23% of admitted students
Freshman class goal: 6,200 students
Thanks for posting these stats from the facebook page. This is helpful. Didn’t realize the OOS admit rate was only 19.5%.
Does anyone have any additional info on FSU’s nursing program. I understand it’s not direct admit and it’s a highly competitive gpa to get in after your soph yr. I believe they only admit 120 students annually and that is in the Fall.
At accepted students days they said they had over 60k applicants and accepted around 20k. They also said they only accepted pathways during second round. They had over 20 k more applicants than last year
2017 - 49%
2018 - 37%
2019 - 33%
Incomplete packages don’t stop some schools. My daughter had two incomplete applications (one because she changed her mind, one because she dropped the ball) and she was admitted to both anyway.
Then there’s the school that admitted, denied, admitted again, and gave her a conditional admittance, all within the course of a couple of weeks, though I forget what order.
(Yes, Florida uni system. No, not FSU or UF.)
