Now I’m hearing FSU IS going to Big 12, and could be playing football 2013 season in Big 12. Yikes, stop the merry go round, I’m getting dizzy. I don’t think big 4 conferences will be exclusively determining national football champ in a 4 conference 16 team playoff deal for a long time, if ever; the PAC would have to raid the Big 10 or Big 12 to get to 16 teams! The ACC and Big East are on shaky ground right now and could end up merging their leftover football schools.

Where did you hear this, Tallalassie?
I’d only like a Big 12 where FSU is in the division separate from OU and Texas lol

I didn’t mean to mislead anybody, FSU hasn’t committed to changing conferences yet, but no officials at FSU have ruled the Big 12 out entirely yet. This whole conference change deal is still very fluid, and anything could happen–nothing is off the table at this time.

[FSU to the Big 12 – “It is Inevitable” | College Football News, Opinion and Analysis | Chuck Oliver.Net](http://dev.chuckoliver.net/2012/05/fsu-to-the-big-12-it-is-inevitable/)

Warchant reports there is nothing to that article, but a lot of people are saying that journalist has been pretty credible.

I agree it is inevitable. It’s becoming clear that four super conferences are about to emerge, and the ACC and Big East are going to be the Children’s tables. We’d be absolutely foolish to remain on the sinking ship that is the ACC.

It’s interesting to see how the tides have turned. This exact discussion was going on last year, and it was the Big 12 who was the “sinking ship” while the ACC was the solid conference.

What will have to happen is a complete analysis of how much competing in the Big 12 versus the ACC will be. It’s one thing if you’re getting more money and the costs are similar, it’s another if you’re getting more money, but costs to compete increase more than that new money.

I guess if you have a football national championship in your heritage (FSU, Miami, GT) you are likely speaking with the Big 12 and/or SEC at this time.

.02 David

The rumors now are that Miami is not interested in the Big12. That’s understandable, given the geography. I think that FSU should try to push for improvements in the ACC before leaving. Losing the rivalry with Miami and having to travel longer distances for games makes the extra money seem like a wash at best.

Don’t panic about the super conferences. There is no way that FSU, Miami and Notre Dame are going to be left out for good. There is simply too much money in these fanbases.

Notre Dame is in the Catbird seat. Don’t worry about Notre Dame. They don’t have to land on their feet be/c they never left their feet. David
