Can someone please explain to me why some of the classes that I've been looking at through FSU registrar are getting filled up when it's not even Drop/Add period, yet?

Is there another way to register/swap for classes before drop/add period? I'm very sad that I've been checking some classes from time to time for availability, but apparently they are full now. Thanks in advance for your help.

The only way classes fill now is for those new students who had late registration. There are always some freshman, and a few more transfers, who attend orientation just before the start of classes. They are not dropping and adding, they are putting together a schedule for the first time. Other than than, even seniors are locked out of add/drop until tomorrow.

There are other times where the number of seats in a class are reduced.

There will still be spots opening up all the way through Thursday.

I’m a bit relieved now that I know those spots were used appropriately for first timers like I was 2 months ago. Hope I will see some open spots soon. Thank you very much :)

Your welcome :). There was just a freshman orientation and a transfer orientation. And grad students had orientation most of the past week. Some of them actually need some prereq undergrad classes. Some get a Masters or PhD in a field different from their undergrad degree, and take some 3000 or 4000 level classes. They did register this past week also.
