FSU Fall 2022 Admission - Class of 2026

An 84 is a B on the 10 point grading scale that is used. What was your ACT or SAT score? That number did go up from a 31 to a 32 (ACT wise) this year.

Does claiming my son’s FSUID mean a formal commitment to attending FSU? If not, can my son claim his ID and enter the housing lottery, and later change his mind to go to a different college? Thank you for your answers in advance.

@cutiecath and @kittym73
Hard to go wrong with either of those choices! I think both FSU and OSU will have many opportunities for athletics, clubs, intramurals, social scene, as well as a cool city to explore.

My son also got accepted to FSU and OSU (Pitt and UGA, too!). UMich was in the mix, too - but he’s postponed from UMich and it’s falling down the list as he waits.

FSU is number one choice for my son. Loved the campus, the warmer weather, the active social media presence and opportunities for his intended program (Sport Mgmt major - probably will try to double in business or finance). The only downside for FSU for us is distance. OSU is much closer for us. Both offered him merit and honors.

No, claiming the FSUID is not a formal commitment. Many claim the ID, enter the housing lottery, even pay the housing deposit, and later change their minds. A portion of the housing deposit is refunded.

CARE is such a cool program!!

So sorry. There are some crazy outcomes this admissions cycle, at FSU and many other schools.

YES! This year has been crazy with many confusing decisions. Hang in there everyone!

I am sure you will get Fall in rolling admissions. The stats of the Fall 2022 class are crazy this year. I think the middle 50% GPA is between 4.3-4.6, which is crazy.

Hi! Current FSU student here. Orientation usually takes place in June for the Fall class. There are accepted student tours that happen before that and you can check out the FSU Admissions website to see when some of those are scheduled. Congratulations!

Our guidance counselor attended a webinar yesterday and said that the stats are the highest ever and she was very surprised. We have several disappointed students from our school. It seems like the in state deferrals are lower SAT scores but not low as far as national average. Crazy year!

Invites for presidential scholarships may be out. My girl received an email inviting her to interview April 1-2. It says only 25-30 awards are given each year😳.

@rah5720 - thanks so much! How do you like FSU? Any advice for new freshmen?

I love FSU! I’m a senior here about to graduate and it has been the best 4 years. I highly recommend living on campus freshman year because that’s the easiest way to make friends. My advice is to remember to have a little fun as Tallahassee is what you make it.

Thank you! Where do I go for the housing? (Edit) I found where to go. It opens in the 23rd for anyone wondering. University Housing / Future Residents / Contracts & Processes / Housing Contracts
I’ll put down a deposit if needed.
My sister and brother in law are FSU grads. They live about 15 minutes from FSU.
My parents live in Boynton Beach which is why he got the grandparent waiver.
I have lived in Plantation, Boca and South Beach so there is a long Florida history even though we live in Montana. :slightly_smiling_face:
Still has some apps out, but this is such a great opportunity and we’re excited.

How is your D deciding where to go? my S22 is in a similar boat.

S22 was deferred 4.05 WGPA 35ACT

A bit of yield protection has been the theme with a good number of universities. going through 75k applications and making a decision who to accept and who to defer is certainly not easy.

Still think a bunch of deferrals will turn into acceptances for many state schools as enrollment yield will start to be more obvious come April.

I think what’s different since around 2019 in college admissions process is that kids have to wait until the spring to make decisions. Surely not fun for them as the level of excitement dissipates with the senior year fading and as they would like to think ahead towards summer and next fall they are at the edge of their seats not sure where they are going and when they are going to get there.

Have you visited Bama? We were super-impressed with the entire experience. Campus is immaculate, friendly people, modern spacious dorms. If interested in business, The Manderson Grad Business school has cracked the top 20 public biz schools, and they offer a STEM MBA and a Create MBA to undergrads thru Honors. However, Bama is considered lower ranked than the other two choices.

Double FSU Alum, Florida native, and former orientation leader at the school. If you’re deciding where to go to school and you got a coveted acceptance letter from Florida State this year, please do yourself a favor and attend. There is no college in the country like Florida State and it provided me with the most memorable, transformative 4 years! To see how competitive and desirable FSU has grown in just the last 5 years makes me incredibly happy as an alum. They are admitting the country’s best and it shows in the recording break applications (75,000+!!!) that people want to be a part of the Seminole community! Congrats to all those accepted! If you have any questions about my experience, please feel free to ask!
